Introduction
A Drag-and-Drop question is a question in which the candidate is asked to place one or more smaller images in the correct location on a background image. This is done by dragging the images to predefined areas. An image can be placed on the background image once or a specific number of times. Multiple images can also be placed.
After configuring the default settings (explained in "Create new question") for the question, the new question opens.
By clicking the gear icon, the settings available for the answer options open up for this question.
Options
Choose image
Select the image you want to use as the background here. If the image is too large, Remindo will automatically resize it.
Add draggable image
Add one or more images to drag-and-drop here.
When you click the pencil icon next to a drag-and-drop image in the left column of the page, you can configure the specific options.
| Option | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Choose image | Select the image here that you want to drag to a specified location on the background image. |
| Maximum number of times the user can use this image | Specify here how often this image may be placed on the background image. |
| Circle | When you select this option and then choose a location on the image, a circle will be placed there. You can increase the diameter of the circle. You can create multiple circles. |
| Hotspot area | When selecting an area, you can mark an area on the image yourself. Please note: The area will not be created until you double-click on one of the points. You can create multiple areas. |
| Assigned score | What score does the candidate achieve by placing the image in this area? |
- For each drag-and-drop image, you can create one or more circles or regions.
- Feedback information can also be recorded for each drag-and-drop image and for whether or not the question was answered correctly. This information is intended for the candidate.
Example
This example is intended to provide insight into how to create a drag-and-drop question. It explains how the question is structured and how the answer options are organized.
- After creating a new drag-and-drop question, it will open. Enter the instructions for the question in the text box.
- Select the gear icon
to add images. Using “Choose image,” you can add a background image from this screen. This is where you’ll eventually need to drag the answer options (other images).
- "Add draggable image" adds a new image that the candidate can move.
- All images are displayed on the left side of the editing screen. All drag-and-drop images appear below the background image. Select the pencil icon next to a drag-and-drop image to create an answer area for this specific draggable answer option.
- Add an answer area (circle or hotspot area)
- By clicking “Circle” and then clicking on a specific area of the background image, an area will be created. This area can then be deleted or enlarged. Below the image, you can adjust the color of the hotspot area and the corresponding score. Finally, feedback for the candidate can be provided.
- To use a Hotspot area , you must manually create a shape for the answer template. When the “Hotspot area” option is selected, you can place points on the background image by left-clicking on the image. These points are automatically connected to one another. In this way, you can create a triangle, square, hexagon, and so on. Once the desired shape has been created, double-click the area with the left mouse button. You can then adjust the color and the assigned score, and enter the feedback below.
An example is shown here. The background image shows a dromedary. For this question, the candidate must drag the movable image (the blue square) to the dromedary’s head and hump. One point is awarded for each correct answer.
The example shows that the candidate can drag and drop the image a maximum of two times. After dragging the first square, the candidate will see the second one appear among the answer options. Both squares must be selected to earn two points. If the candidate places both squares in the same area, Remindo will award only one point.
Below is a screenshot of what this drag-and-drop question looks like in the Remindo admin interface. The first square has already been placed on the dromedary’s head. The second square is still in the location where the draggable images appear when a drag-and-drop question is launched. Candidates will not see the purple areas; these are intended to make it easier for the question creators/administrators to test what works.
