23-11-2025 Remindo Release 25.6
Versie: 25.6.00
Highlights
-
Administrators can now enable the results page in the new design for candidates
The new design for the candidate result page can be enabled via the general settings in the manager environment. This allows you to determine when the new design should be activated for candidates. -
See deadline for correction rounds
On the correction round overview page for admins and correctors, we now also show the number of days until the deadline. This makes it immediately clear how much time remains to complete correction work. The functionality of deadlines has not changed; it is still possible to check after the deadline. See the Settings of a correction round for more information.

Worksheet questions without input fields for candidates can no longer be approved.
Worksheet questions must be answerable by students. Because they cannot be approved without input fields, it will be discovered in time that the question cannot yet be used in a blueprint.
Input fields can be recognized by the yellow marking.

Consistent order of Yes/No options in access time settings
For administrators, the order of "Yes/No" options in settings for review moments has been made more uniform. This makes the user experience more consistent and intuitive. -
Administrators and tutors can view the results as candidates in the new design
On the Result page for a candidate, an option has been added to view that page as a candidate. This option is shown in the new design, even if an administrator hasn't yet enabled the new design for candidates. This allows you to get a feel for the new design before enabling it for candidates. API-aanpassingen
-
Adjustments in OOAPI/OKE: Results based on result type and cut-off point
Result feedback via OOAPI/OKE has been improved. Depending on the result type and the presence of a cut-off score, results are now correctly displayed as a percentage, a number, or as "in progress." This improves workflow if the cut-off score is determined at a later time. For more information about persisting different result types, see this article. -
Settings for plagiarism check available via API
It is now possible to check whether plagiarism checks are enabled for a test moment using the moment/list API call. This helps with integrating this information into external dashboards. -
Attachments added to /api/v1/paper/list API call
The /api/v1/paper/list API call, which retrieves all PDF files that can be used with print&scan, now includes attachments such as audio files. This ensures consistency with the /api/v1/paper/list_variant API and makes it easier to retrieve all required files in a single call.
Sowiso
-
No attempts shown for Sowiso question on results page
When viewing Sowiso question results, the "Attempts" column is no longer displayed, as it always shows a single attempt. This provides a clearer presentation of the results. -
Support for new Sowiso question types: Drag and Drop and Hidden Hotspot
The Sowiso question types "Drag and Drop" and "Hidden Hotspot" are now available in the Sowiso synchronization. This makes it easy to add these question types to tests and use them for candidates. -
Multilingual Import of Sowiso Items
It is now possible to import Sowiso questions in multiple languages. Administrators can select which languages they want to import in the Manager environment under "Question Settings" under "Sowiso Integration Settings," making questions available in multiple languages.
-
Adding cloud.sowiso.nl and geogebra.org to the instructions for setting up the whitelist
Via Manage in the Player environment, the domains cloud.sowiso.nl and geogebra.org have been added to the list of domain names that must be added to a whitelist. If a whitelist is used, these must be added for smooth test takes of Sowiso questions. -
Synchronization of calculator settings from Sowiso
Calculator settings defined at question level in Sowiso are now synchronized with Remindo. This automatically transfers the correct calculator settings (none, simple, or scientific), ensuring consistency between both systems.More information about the Sowiso question type in Remindo can be found in the article about the Sowiso question.

Update: Candidate Page Redesign
We're seeing more and more organizations adopting the new candidate page design for test taking (more information about activating the new design can be found in Release Notes 25.4). Since the previous release, we've made several minor improvements, and this release includes the following major updates:-
Calculator
The calculator during test take is now fully aligned with the new design. While its functionality remains unchanged, the user experience has been improved with a modern and intuitive interface.
-
Highlighting and adding notes during test take
The new design now fully supports candidates to highlight text and add notes during test take. -
The "Immersive Reader" button has been renamed to "Read Aloud."
If the Immersive Reader is being used, the button for the read-aloud function has been renamed from "Immersive Reader" to "Lees voor" (Dutch) and "Read Aloud" (English). This makes the functionality clearer for candidates, without them needing to know what Immersive Reader or Readspeaker are. -
Planning
The redesign of the candidate's result page is almost complete. As with the previous design, details of the test take, feedback on results, and the answers provided can be viewed here, depending on the visibility settings. We are currently checking if all functionalities have been fully implemented. The new results page design can be enabled on request in the Preview environments (please submit a ticket if you request this); it is expected to be generally available starting with the next release.

-
Logging of API actions per API key for improved traceability
API actions are now logged in more detail, making it clear which API or integration performed an action. This improves traceability and simplifies error detection and auditing. Because API integrations are more often combined, it's increasingly important to know which API integration made the changes. Common combinations include a connection via OKE to a planning application and a connection to Skillsly. LTI is also often combined with other API integrations: LTI to allow students to easily practice and a direct API connection to another system for full control over exam planning.

-
Option added to the media player settings to prevent pausing the video
When adding a media player to a question, authors can now specify that the media cannot be paused after starting. This is useful for tests where candidates must observe a situation. In a real situation, it is also not possible to "pause" or "replay" a situation. If candidates are only allowed to watch the video once, without the option to pause or replay, this situation is simulated as realistically as possible. This option can be configured for each video.
-
Excluded questions added to Excel export in question overview
It is now possible to add the IDs of exluded questions to a test question that should never be included in the same test and are therefore mutually exclusive (via the "Settings" tab for each question). When exporting a question overview to Excel using "Show all" in the question overview, an "Excluded questions (IDs)" column is now included. This column contains the IDs of all questions excluded from that question, separated by commas. -
Sowiso question bank now sorted alphabetically
For those using the integration with our math question module, Sowiso, categories in the Sowiso question bank are now displayed alphabetically by default. This makes it easier to quickly find the desired category. If your own authors add questions to Sowiso, the various author groups can also be more easily found this way.
Player
-
Location added to the search functionality in the activity overview
Users can now also search by location name in the activity overview. This makes it easier to find exams or review moments at a specific location. -
Added option to archive review moments
Just like test moments, review moments can now be archived via the settings of review moments. Archived review moments can be found on a separate tab and can be reactivated if necessary. -
Link to blueprint added to overview of paper exams
A link to the corresponding blueprint in Manager has now been added to the overview of paper exams. This makes it easier to navigate directly to the exam. This link is only visible if you have an account in both the Manager and Player environment and have permission to open this exam in the admin panel.
-
Option added to download PDF exports without the front page and table of contents
When exporting results to PDF, an option is now available to exclude the front page and table of contents. -
Candidate account expiration visible in the log of the test moment and audit trail
When a candidate account expires, it is now recorded in the log of the test moment and audit trail. This explains why a candidate disappears from a test moment. -
Improved error handling for Schoolyear integration
When opening the Schoolyear dashboard or settings page, synchronization errors are now ignored. This allows users to always open the dashboard or settings page, even if an error occurs with the synchronization of Schoolyear. This is especially important when using AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop, which is used to support Applicative Assessment), as changes to Schoolyear settings cannot be made immediately before the virtual environments are started. -
Support for fixed public keys added in LTI 1.3
When using LTI 1.3, it's now possible to store a public key in the settings, instead of retrieving it from an endpoint. This is particularly useful for local development or connecting to a non-publicly accessible environment.
Improvements to the API of the collection environment
-
Demo status added to subscription_start-callback
The subscription_start-callback now includes a demo field, which immediately shows whether a test has been started as a demo. This reduces unnecessary API calls and improves efficiency. -
Logging in via API with a restriction to a specific test also provides access to the results
If the restrict_access=true option is set when a candidate logs in via the API, results from previous tests will remain hidden. The result from the current test will now be visible to the candidate, if visibility settings do permit.
Maintenance
-
Removal of browser requests to the hub domain
All logo files and other static files for Remindo in the corporate's identity are now served by the applications themselves, instead of through the hub domain. This improves performance and simplifies whitelisting. Existing users will not notice this change, and if the hub domain is still whitelisted, it won't be a problem. -
PHP 8.4 upgrade for improved performance and security
The Remindo platform environment has been updated to the latest version of PHP, PHP version 8.4. This provides improved performance, new programming options, and enhanced security. By regularly updating the programming languages, we ensure that Remindo remains current and secure.

Version 25.4.00
Highlights
-
Redesign of test take for candidates
Over the past few months, the redesign of the test take has been extensively tested and is already being used on a large scale by a number of launching customers. We are proud to now make it widely available!
With this major visual upgrade, the test take has been redesigned using the latest insights in the field of UI/UX, offering a modern, user-friendly and accessible experience for all candidates.
The new design is not yet active for candidates by default, so you can decide for yourself when to switch to the new design. For the time being, the old design will remain available. In future releases, all other pages for candidates will also be redesigned in the new design. It will remain possible to use the old design until every page for candidates has been made available.
What makes this new design special?
- Familiar but updated: All existing functionality has been retained and can usually be found in the same place.
- Clearer answer selection: Visual improvements make it even clearer which answer has been selected.
- Subtle animations: Small visual effects support interaction without distracting.
- Completely new accessibility menu: Including support for a genuine dyslexia font.
- WCAG as a basis: Even better accessibility thanks to standardised improved contrast, clearer buttons and keyboard control.
- Optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile: A smooth experience on any screen size.
- Fewer distractions: A calmer and clearer interface for better focus, partly because PDF reader windows or instruction texts now open in a side panel.
This new design is not only a visual upgrade, but also a step forward in accessibility and ease of use!
Every role with access to ‘test this exam’ can try out the test take in both the old and new designs, even if this is not yet available for a candidate.
Every functionality available in the old design has been carried over to the new design. However, the following features will be further modified in upcoming releases and may therefore still change in design:
- The open question type in combination with the ‘code’ formatting setting.
- The highlighting of text and addition of notes by a candidate while answering the question.
- In a practice or graded practice in which the candidate can immediately correct their own answers.
- The calculator which, depending on the settings, is available during the test take.
Optimised mobile display:
-
Azure AI Immersive Reader
The new design allows you to use Microsoft's Azure AI Immersive Reader. This feature reads the text on the page aloud and can be used as an alternative to ReadSpeaker.
This is how it works: a copy of the question without visual formatting is displayed and read aloud in a side panel. There are also various settings for displaying and reading this text aloud.
The integration of Azure AI Immersive Reader is currently available in beta. This means that the feature can be viewed and used (on a limited scale), but is still under active development. During this testing period, Azure AI Immersive Reader is free to use; it is still unclear what costs will be charged in the future. Currently, Azure AI Immersive Reader integration is only available in the new design of the test take.
Azure AI Immersive Reader opened in side panel:

-
Terminology relating to visibility of result settings harmonised
The texts for visibility of results have now been harmonised in both the manager and player environments. This prevents confusion and ensures a consistent user experience. -
Change of url help center
The url for Remindo's help center has been changed to support.remindo.com, and this has been implemented in Remindo's management and player environments, where the help center can be accessed via the icon with the "i".

-
Clarified warning text for external media
The notification when adding external media to a question has been modified. It now clearly indicates that the question is only available for formative tests (practice and graded practice), unless external media are explicitly permitted in the question settings. -
Question ID and code visible when editing questions
When editing a question, the question ID and code are now displayed at the top of the editor screen. Long codes are automatically shortened, and empty codes are not displayed. This makes it easier to see which question you are editing.
-
Option ‘Available for use in paper exams’ removed for certain question types
When creating a question based on a worksheet, open worksheet or AlgebraKiT question type, the option ‘Available for paper-based testing’ is no longer displayed. These question types are not suitable for paper tests, which is now made clearer when creating the question. -
Permission for bulk download as PDF now configurable per role
Permission to download questions in bulk as PDF is now configurable for the roles “Reviewer” and “Support Desk”. By default, this option remains enabled, but administrators can change this via the permissions in ‘Manage generic settings’. -
Filter added to export of blueprint results based on the player environment
When exporting results from a blueprint, an additional filter is now available: player environment. This appears automatically when multiple player environments are active, allowing you to more specifically export results.

-
Item identifiers added to subscription_start callback
The subscription_start callback now contains a list of all item identifiers for the test at the moment the test starts. This prevents additional API requests and enables more efficient processing of test data. Existing links remain fully compatible. -
Number of answered and unanswered questions added to Excel export
The Excel export of test results now contains two additional columns: the number of answered and unanswered questions. This provides immediate insight into the level of participation per candidate, without additional calculations.

-
New API endpoint for querying question content
A new API endpoint has been added to the manager environment that allows the content of questions to be retrieved in a structured manner. Both the question content and the set score and point distribution are returned via /api/v2/items/{id}/content. This endpoint can be used to automate processes that perform content checks on questions.
An API endpoint will also become available in one of the upcoming releases that allows (simple) changes to questions to be made.

Development of new design for Remindo
Behind the scenes we are working hard on a new design for Remindo, initially focused on the candidate. The most important pages, such as the test take and the results page, are almost ready and are currently being tested extensively. Our internal tests have been expanded and improved, so that we can perform automated tests on a large scale in a controlled environment. In addition, the test take is also tested in real life with real test takes.
Although the test take in the new design can be used, it will not be available directly on the production environments. We need the coming months for the final adjustments and expect that some changes will be made based on feedback from the current tests. Curious? In consultation with our Service Desk, it is possible to make the new design of the test take available on the preview environment to try it out.
30-03-2025 Remindo Release 25.2
Version: 25.2.00
Highlights
-
Extra colunmn in Excel export
An extra column has been added to the Excel export in which the number of test takes of the latest version of the question is included. For the export: go to the management environment, select the required questions, click on ‘Show all’ and choose ‘Download list as Excel file'
-
Images via API in the instruction text
When adding a blueprint via the API, it is now also possible to include an image in the instruction text or the closing text.

-
Filter by locations in candidate list
The candidate list can be filtered by location. This option is only shown when locations have been added to candidates. Only those values (location names) are shown that are used in the test moment.
- From now on, the extra time granted will be included in the finish time that is communicated to Schoolyear. This makes it possible to grant access again to a student who has been granted extra time and wants to restart Schoolyear outside the set time of the test.
- When multiple correction rounds were connected to a result, different numbers were used while it was the same correction round. From now on a specific correction round will have the same number for the different questions.
- The log of a review moment now records whether a candidate has been added to or removed from the review moment.
- Several external libraries that are used have been updated to the latest version. These are used in the drawing question, the Sowiso question type and the worksheet questions.
-
Minor adjustments to the implementation of the OKE connection
- The properties that are linked to a test are now also listed in the test catalogue that can be requested via OKE. The properties are exchanged via the description of the test: this makes it possible to make these properties searchable in a planning application. In the Remindo Manager environment, it can be indicated per blueprint property whether it is available in the test environments. Only properties that have been made available are included in the description ot the test catalogue.
- The way a result is sent back has been adjusted: if the result type is not a number or percentage, we do not return a value. Previously, a result in points was converted into a percentage, but that has no meaning in most planning application and only caused confusion.
02-02-2025 Remindo Release 25.1
Version: 25.1.00
Highlights
-
Average of correction rounds
When multiple rounds of correction have been added to a test moment or test matrix and the setting ‘The result and grade will be determined based on this round of correction’ is set to ‘yes’, the result was based on the last correction round performed. This has been changed, if for several correction rounds ‘The result and grade will be based on this correction round’ is set to ‘yes’, the result will be calculated based on the average of these correction rounds.

Logging in via API with restriction to specific test
To the possibility of logging in a candidate via the API, an option has been added to specify a restriction allowing the student to access only a specific test or result. If a candidate is redirected via the API to a test or result he is not allowed to access, he will be notified. The new restriction prevents a candidate from subsequently being able to start another test or view another result via his dashboard. -
Filtering on locations with or without security measures
Following Release 24.6 in which it became possible to enable or disable security per location, it is now possible to filter on this functionality in the overview of locations.
Integrations in the Remindo Afname environment
- The integration with Schoolyear has been updated to APIv2. Among other things, this now makes it possible to secure tests that are available to candidates for longer than 24 hours with Schoolyear.
