The OKE connection exchanges data between functionalities (e.g., between the test planning application and the test take application) when an event occurs. Data is therefore not synchronized between applications, but only exchanged during an event.
Introduction
Below the OKE connection is explained. A run is then used to illustrate how data exchange is handled via the OKE connection.
OKE connection based on the OOAPI standard
The OKE connection allows you to connect applications from various suppliers with Remindo. This is possible via the OKE connection (Onderwijs Koppeling Examinering). This allows for the automated transfer of test moments from the planning application into Remindo, and Remindo also automatically returns test results. This eliminates the need for manual data import and export, preventing errors.
Because the OKE connection is an open standard (based on the Open Onderwijs API), a lengthy implementation process is not needed. This allows vocational education (MBO) to configure the exam process using applications from various suppliers provided the supplier complies with this open standard.
The OKE connection was specifically developed for the examination process in vocational education (MBO) and uses OOAPI version 5. The OKE connection is based on three functionalities:
- student information system (SIS),
- test planning and logistics system, and
- test take system
Remindo is used in this case as the test take system. There are six interfaces/information flows between these three functionalities. More information about the OKE integration can be found at edustandaard.nl.
For an explanation of how to set up the OKE connection and FAQ with answers, see the article Setting the OKE connection.
A Run
Qualifiers for the race will be announced in advance and will be lined up (flow 2 seating plan from the planning application). First, the runner's name will be checked. If it's unknown, the race number will be checked. If the race number is also illegible, the runner will be given a new number (account).
The competition begins (test take), and the tension is palpable in the stadium (test take application, in this case Remindo). The referee (supervisor) monitors whether everything is proceeding according to the competition rules (this is recorded in the accountability report). Each time a player crosses the finish line, their final result (the test result) is announced through various media (the test participant's result and accountability report are sent to the planing application). When no competition is taking place, no data is exchanged.
