Highlights

  • New design for candidates now standard active in all environments
    With this release, the new design for the test take and result pages is enabled for all existing customer environments, as previously announced in the "Year planning of releases 2026". Until Release 26.5, administrators can still temporarily switch back manually to the old design via the settings; after that, this option will no longer be available.

    Based on feedback from users over the past months, various improvements have been made, including:
    • When adding a comment by a candidate during a test or review moment, a brief notification immediately appears once the comment is saved. This makes it clear right away that the action was successful, without needing to reopen the comment.
    • The result page features renewed navigation and header: notifications, the link to the knowledge base, and the profile (including logout and switching between accounts).

  • Ratio table available during test-taking
    • The candidate can open a ratio table during the test via a button next to the question. The ratio table is a tool to manually calculate with ratios. Entered data is saved as long as the question remains open, and the table is completely separate from the answer field.

    • An author can enable the ratio table for specific questions or an entire test, similar to making the calculator available. The setting can be found under the name "support tool", before called "calculator". For more information to add the ratio table see the articles "Create new question" and "Blueprint settings".

Note!

The calculator can now be found under the “Support tool” setting in both the question settings and the blueprint settings. In addition to the calculator, the ratio table can also be found there.

Other

  • Also request incomplete correction rounds via the API
    When requesting correction rounds via the API, it is now possible with an extra parameter to specify that not yet completed correction rounds should also be returned. This allows external applications to monitor the progress of the correction work. The API documentation has been updated accordingly.
  • Application now runs on latest version of PHP
    Remindo has been migrated to PHP 8.5. This keeps the application up-to-date with the latest version and ensures better performance and long-term support, without visible impact for users.

  • Stronger encryption of passwords
    Passwords are now hashed with a higher bcrypt cost factor, in line with the tightened standard (https://php.watch/versions/8.4/password_hash-bcrypt-cost-increase). This makes stored passwords more resistant to brute-force attacks on modern hardware. Existing passwords are automatically converted to the new, stronger encryption as soon as a user logs in, no action is required.

    Tip!

    We recommend, where possible, to use Single Sign On (SSO) to log in (see article "Single Sign On (SSO)"). For these users, no password needs to be stored in Remindo and this adjustment does not apply.

  • Minimum version for Safe Exam Browser tightened
    The frontend of Remindo uses updated build tooling. This makes the application more stable, easier to maintain, and better prepared for future developments, without visible impact for users.

    From this release onwards, Remindo is therefore only compatible with Safe Exam Browser version 3.10.1 or higher. We advise checking which SEB version is used within your organisation and updating it if necessary.
